Gift Certificates

We offer gift certificates if you desire to purchase a gift certificate for another person. You can pay in any amount that you like.

Two Options

  1. The most popular option is that you select a specific tour for a specific number of people. I will provide you with a quote. You will pay that amount. For example, you pay for a Haunted Tour B for 2 people, or a Houston Tunnel Tour A4 for 4 people, or for a 3-hour Chocolate Tour for 3 people. Of course, any tour is available within a few constraints. That will be explained below under Limitations.
  2. You decide on a fixed amount for the recipient to receive. For example, you pay $100.00 for the recipient to use on any tour that he/she likes. The recipient may have to pay a balance for a more expensive tour or lose out on the full value of a cheaper tour. If a tour is cheaper than $100.00, the recipient can schedule multiple tours to try to get the most value for his/her gift and pay any balance that may exist.

If the recipient wants to add people to the tour, he/she can and pay the balance. A gratuity of 15% is added to any parties of 6 or more people. For example, if the purchaser buys a gift certificate for 4 people, a gratuity is not included. If the recipient wishes to add 2 or more people, the recipient will pay for the additional people and a 15% gratuity for the whole party now that the total is 6 people.

Time-Frame

The recipient will have 6 months to use the gift certificate from the time that you authorize. For example, if you are giving it as a college graduation present that is occurring out-of-town on May 19th, and the person will not be back in Houston until May 30th, you might want the time-frame to be from June 1st to December 1st. If the person does not use it in the time-frame, he/she loses it.

You should not designate the day that you purchase or give the gift certificate as the beginning of the six month window. Allow the recipient time to look at his/her availability for scheduling a tour.

Limitations

  1. You cannot purchase a gift certificate for an alcoholic-related tour for a minor or including a minor who is under 21 years of age. These would include brewery, distillery, pub, rum, and wine tours, those haunted tours that focus on going into haunted bars, and night life tours that go to venues where live music is played and alcohol is served.
  2. Outdoor walking tours are not conducted between April and September due to the oppressive heat and humidity.
  3. Holiday Lights Tours are normally only conducted in December.
  4. Azalea Trail Tours are only conducted in March.
  5. Rodeo related tours are normally only conducted in late February and March.
  6. Houston Tunnel Tours can only be conducted on Monday through Friday. The tunnels are closed on weekends.

Delivery or Informing the Recipient

I can send the purchaser and or the recipient an email detailing the gift without identifying the purchase price.

Purchaser Schedules a Tour

All of our tours are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. A recipient who wishes to schedule a tour should provide a few different dates and identify his/her priorities. Thus, if we already have a tour scheduled for another party on the recipient’s first choice, we have a couple of other dates from which to focus.

Lastly, the purchaser should schedule his/her tour at least one month before the gift certificate expires. Do not wait until the last minute and expect all dates will be available. For example, if a gift certificate will expire on November 30th, contact us by October 30th with 3 tour date options to schedule the tour in November.
