Distillery Tours

We offer 4 different tours three days a week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  You have two options for the Thursday and Friday tours and 4 and 6 hours and two options on Saturday at 6 and 8 hours.  Read the descriptions below.  The cost of the tour includes all admission fees, tours, and tastings at the distilleries.  Meals and drinks at the bar(s) are on your own. Each distillery has a minimum of 4 samples.   If you want more spirits, please visit our Rum Tour page, also.

Scheduling and Deposit – These tours are normally SCHEDULED AT LEAST TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE with a non-refundable deposit of roughly 50% paid to reserve the tour.  Call or write us to make arrangements.  This contact information can be found at the top of the page.  All tours are scheduled by appointment.

Distilleries:  We visit the Yellow Rose Distilling Company and Whitmeyer’s Distilling Company.  Yellow Rose opened in September 2014 and Whitmeyer’s opened in 2012.  Learn how chemicals are separated through vaporization and condensation, or distilled, to make spirits.

Meal – We stop for a meal between the two distilleries to absorb the liquor that you are drinking.

Tour A – Offered on Thursday and Friday from 3:30 to 7:30 PM for 4 hours.  This goes to two distilleries.

Tour B – Offered on Thursday and Friday from 3:30 to 9:30 PM for 6 hours.  This goes to two distilleries, stops for a quick dinner, and to a whiskey bar.

Tour C – Offered on Saturday from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM for 6 hours.  This tour includes stopping for lunch and more time at the distilleries.

Tour D – Offered on Saturday from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM for 8 hours.  This goes to two distilleries, stops for lunch, and goes to one or two whiskey bars depending on how much time you spend in the first bar or if you want to stop for a snack.

Upon arrival at each distillery, what can you expect?

  1. These are pretty laid back locations.  It is almost as if you are going to a happy hour.  Drinking samples will commence and later a tour will follow.
  2. The distilleries have snacks and sometimes food trucks are present; however, neither distillery serves meals.

The tours begin at the Houston Visitors Center in downtown. Please click here to be connected to the address and parking information.

One must be at least 21 years of age, or be with their parent or spouse with the same address and have a valid driver’s license, passport, or legitimate photo identification card.

Bring cash for any meals, souvenirs, and if you so choose to purchase any bottles, not necessarily in that order.
